Default 1999 Civic EX Coupe - 100,000 mile tune up

My brother who is a Honda freak promised to slam me in a wall if I do not have the tun-up done by a Honda dealer. Why can't my local mechanic do the tune-up. Also should the tune-up be at 100 K or 105 K.

Check your maintennance book. You should have recieved one with your car, if you havent I'm sure there are copies onthe internet. And you don't necessarily need to get it done at a honda stealership. You can get it done damn near anywhere. Call your brother a nerd and give him a noogie. lol

It should be around 100k because it's recommended, and what is probably best for the car. No one will kill you if it's done at 105k.
