2003 EX couple - question
hi, I am a new member, I have a 2003 honda civic ex coupe, I bought it new, changed the tires and battery once and changed air filters a couple of times, no other maintenace done, the vehicle now has 70,539 miles.
The engine light keeps coming on, stays on for about a month or son, disapears for a few weeks, then comes back again.
This is not the maintenance light, that one is off...
Any idea on what it needs ?? or why it comes on ?
Thanks for the help

You should pull the codes. How is your gas mileage? My longshot guess is your primary O2 sensor.
Funny thing that you didn't say oil changes. I remembered a lady from work said that she never changed her oil, but she did add oil when needed. Then she realized why she always her cars always had engine problems.

WOW! Is that high mileage for an 03? I am rolling an 03 and have 34k on mine. My light comes on occasionally after I get gas, and won't reset. Put the key in, turn it (but don't start it) and hold down the mileage reset button for about 30 seconds and it should reset.
But, go get your oil changed.

Sorry, I do change the oil, every 3k miles!!! I used penzoil 20/5.
My question I guess is, the car runs fine, is there a reason for the ligth being on ? meaning I'm I supposed to change something at this point that I don't know about...
yeah 70k miles is a lot, I drive this car to work 40 miles every day so its adds up... love this Honda though its an awesome car.

You will need to pull the codes ? does that mean I have to pay 75 for someone tohook it up toa computer and tell me what's wrong with it ? or is there another way to pull codes?
"I have close to 280,000 miles on my 97 Civic"WOW! that's crazy...
