2004 LX engine information

Tried search and google to no avail. I have a 2004 Civic LX sedan with a 5 speed.

Wondering some stock specs on my engine and transmission, if you guys know them or where I can find them.

I've got quite a few miles left on warranty but once it's up I would like to do a swap to my car and hopefully turbo that setup. I run mobil 1 in the engine religiously changing at or before 5000 miles and it runs sweet as a nut and doesn't burn any oil at just under 70000.

The plan is to buy a used engine that's not blown and rebuild it forged, etc and swap it and a better tranny in and install a turbo kit.

Any info let me know, thanks!

turboing your car is a pain in the ass cause of the fuel-less return, and the only swap you can do is a K series, which are just as much of a pain and big money$$$

Really... I had no idea. I'm pretty new to the newer generation of hondas.

So there is no hope for my car?

no please dont think there is no hope swap for a k and turbo you can make some serious power but working with your d17a1 or a2 vtec is a beast of a job

RE: 2004 LX engine information

Nice but in the summer i can pull over 40mpg out of it... hehe

Okay... well I guess I will do a search for information on that unless you have some info.

If I do modify this car when the time comes, I would like to maintain the driveability where is now. If I swap engines and such, will all the dash lights, gauges, etc still work the same?

What kind of life can I expect from my 1.7? I have run mobil 1 since I bought it, andit has run like a top since I've had it.

Also, is there a thread on here for maintenance intervals for fluids, belts, tuneup, etc? I know what the manual and honda say, but are these pretty accurate or should I do anything sooner?

Thanks a lot! :)
