Default 2012 Honda Civic HF

Ok...my long awaited HF arrived....While checking out the 'oil' level / dip stick
I noticed that it was in the middle of the motor. That I had no problem with -EXCEPT that the dip stick is PLASTIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does any know what will happen to this PLASTIC dip stick after years and years of being BAKED in the hot oil????
WHAT in the world is HONDA thinking!!

Iknow people with 2006 Civic's with the same dip stick with well over 150,000 miles and have had no problems. And a hint BMW, Mini Cooper, Ford, GM, and a few others use plastic dip sticks. Enjoy your Civic.

ya I know what you mean.. except that I also have a 2004 S/4 Avant Audi's dip stick - that had hair line cracks. if this fell into an oil gallery..what do you think will happen. In my case, I removed that piece and marked it for reference.
Maybe I'm old school - but I still do not feel good with plastic in hot oil bath for maybe 10 years or more ( that's how long I usually keep my daily rides)
