97 Civic 99 Accord parts swap
Hello all and thanks in advance for your time.
I have two Honda's trying to see what my best options are.
97 Honda ex manual trans. My daily driver. It's old and rough looking but runs and drives. Needs some suspension work and wheel bearings and brake work.
99 Accord 2 door 2.3 auto trans.
Starts motor runs great. Will not shift out of 1st gear. Was told it is in limp mode but I believe it's just a bad tranny. From a little research it appears this year model was know for bad transmissions.
It has had a reacent brake job.
The accord is a nicer car but needs a transmission. The Civic needs some work on the suspension and has an occasional miss and low power when going up hills on the highway.
So couple of questions.
1. What car would you invest money in.
2. What if any parts are interchangable (brakes, spindles, shocks
3. I've seen the transmissions at jdmnewyork.com for 299 bucks. Are they worth the money and would the trans problem still exist.
Thanks again
