2013 Civic vs. Accord -- which to buy?
Hi, I am debating whether to buy a 2013 Civic or Accord (both in EX-L with nav). Will use primarily within Chicago as well as 240 mile trips between Chicago and Indiana.
I find both very comfortable, but my primary concern is comfort/stability during highway driving.
Would love your opinions!

I have a 9th gen Civic (2012) and I am very happy with it. Naturally I am going to recommend the Civic. But, the Accord is a great car too. It really all depends how much you want to spend and how much power you want. The Accord EX-L has more power so that's what I would get if I were in your situation (but i'd rather have my Civic Si, which isn't one of your choices). The drawback is gas mileage, which I am pretty sure is less than that of the Civic. So really it's a power vs. gas mileage argument, and also price vs. luxury since the Accord is naturally a nicer car.

Have had my civic since last week, developing significant lower back pain. Drivers Seat very uncomfortable in lumbar region, not noticed on test drive. Car is flawless other wise but this is not something I can tolerate long term. There are other such complaints on the net, you may want to research both cars more.
Been searching for a car myself and the civic seems there BUT when i have taken the new 2013's out for a test drive i find i can't see the front end of the car? Anyone else out there have this problem? Thanks..
It's like that on my 2012. I think it's actually like that on most new cars. I feel like once you get used to it, it's easier to drive that way because the bottom of the windshield seems to line up almost perfectly with the front end of the car from the driver's point-of-view. I use the bottom edge of the windshield as a point-of-reference when parking, etc. and that helps me tell how close I am to something.
Id be skeptical about using your method, especially in a new car... using the bottom of your windshield would depend on your sitting posture etc, and if you slouch a little on a rainy day, you may end up effing up your bumper. Who knows though, im no doctor.

I, too, have been looking at the Civic vs. Accord. The Civic Si has the same engine as the standard 4 in the Accord, according to the tech specs. Both have an 11:1 compression ratio and the dual cam setup. Does anyone know why the Si calls for premium gas while the Accord takes regular?
