This 2015 SI
I'll post a photo soon. It's a white one and looks great. I traded in a 2008 LX manual coupe this last weekend.
I'll tell you, this is a fine auto. After the discount and rebate it was $20,800. I had tried to buy a new Mustang instead but I could never get comfortable with the decision. So I went in and drove out with this SI one.
I want to talk about something. There has been a lot of discussion with respect to the recent SIs, not being the high revving machines that the older ones were. (I probably should have chosen a SI in 2008 when I got my LX and I can't say I really know anything about the older SI set-up. The LX was a tiger.) You see a lot of comparisons with the Mazdas and GTis and how they're better. I don't think so. Those cars have an awful lot of doors and aren't as attractive, especially the Golf. I can get in and out with just one door, and if I have more than one passenger, so what. I like two doors. And I bet the others weigh more too. And cost more.
I don't need to justify my purchase, but this is a better car than the journos lead you to believe. It's great, the jackal's cackles.
The interior is great and it comes fully loaded. I like the low end torque. It's an absolute screamer around town. I can't imagine getting anything more for less than $21K. This thing is a delight. Way underrated.
