Might be a stupid question but can i put a vtec controller on a d16 with vtec? I want to hear my vtec kick in, i rode in my buddies integ and his vtec opens up at higher rmp and you can hear it good. New to civics and trying to see what i can do thanks

yeah, but it's just money down the drain. Anyways, it won't make your vtec sound any lounder.

its possible that your friends VTEC was louder because he may of had a twin cam engine, ask him/her....

Yea he has a b18obd2 gsr motor. I thought that might have a lil dif. I just got done with my twin loop exhaust because i keep getting pulled over, I also cleaned up the motor and threw on some new corner lights. Depending if i keep the car i want a b18 gsr motor in it. But in need to do a lot of research and see the best setup thanks

any b-series (or h-,f-, or k-series) will give you a louder vtec. It's because they're dohc compared to your sohc. And a vtec controller is wasted money on most cars.

RE: 93 Vtec question

the single cam motors vtec will not kick in too loud.... if anything, you could upgrade the camshaft.... so the vtec lobes are a bit bigger... then the vtec will be louder... and your car would be considerably faster

Honda set your Vtec to kick in where it does for a reason. Don't mess with it.
