'96-'00 B16A swap
What would be the most successful swap for a 98 civic with a stock B16A?
|
That all depends on your goals for your car and your future plans..
Be more specific of what you want out of your car. |
More power :D
I want to put turbo on but I'm afraid it will blow the engine I have. I don't know much about Vtech's can you swap a Vtech into a car that didn't use to have one? That probably is a dumb question :) |
wats wrong with the b16 u got? its good to add mods for more power...
|
Adding Turbo wouldn't blow it?
|
Depends on the motor and if its built for it or if it was beat on....
how many miles? |
For the record, there's no H in vtec ;)
Anyway, the B16 is a great engine for boost. Do a compression check, and if all cylinders are within 10% of each other with somewhat healthy looking numbers, you should be fine, provided you don't want something crazy like 500whp. I think the b16 can hold something like 250-300whp with the stock internals. *ninja edit: oh, and yes, you can swap a vtec engine into a non-vtec car. You just need the ecu for the vtec engine and you need to run a few wires. |
Only about 125,800 It belonged to a lady who used it as a daily driver
|
If I were to swap out for a Vtec would there be good difference?
And how difficult are those wires to run. :) |
If it is a B16, it's already vtec. Check the stamp on the block (here's what to look for) and let us know what it says. The B16 didn't come stock in USDM/CDM '98 civics.
