i went pricing civic coupes today but when i look up after market items for them i keep getting told theres a difference between a 96-98 body and a 99-00.. could some 1 who knows what that is enlighten me. thanks

There's just a little bit of difference. I believe the headlights are a tad different, along with the bumper. Not sure about the rest of it though.

front and rear (taillights) . the 99-00 looks better in most peoples opinion.

i actually like the fronts on the 99-00 but the rear of the 96-98 (sedans).

I actually like the 99-00 better (even though I have a 97). I just don't like the yellow rear turn signals.

I also have a 1997 coupe but perfer the 99-00 rears alot more.

the rears bolt right on though, so if you want red/clear, just get some 99-00 tails.

96-98 has a smaller grill compared to 99-00. Find two pictures of the front bumper and compare them you'll know what I am taking about.

and the headlights (96-98) have a little amber/yellow strip that runs arounf the corner, the 99-00 ones only have a little yellow triangle inside the corner.

96-98 Have a shorter front end the hood is shorter than 99-00. I have a 00', I like the front bumper, I cut a hole in the black thing on the left to get ram air to my cold air intake. make sure you get a EX, or SI unless your doing a swap then go with a ls, dx, or hx.
