Default 96-99 AT Civic owners

So I read that all 96-99 AT Civics have problem wit the linear solenoid (whatever that means). The symptom is shifting is harsh or may stay in first gear. I just wanna know if anyone here have this problem.

i noe its not thts y im lookn into swaping for a manual SOON. my trany literaly took 20 seconds to shift from Reverse to D4

if any1 has a link to a sight to get all the parts for a manual swap for a 98 EX id would GREATLY apreciate it

^^^^^I hope u plan on keeping ur civic for a long time if ur gunna put a lot of money in doing a swap...cuz i was gunna swap mine to stickk but then found out how many arms and legs it was gunna take.....but ggoodluck

i plan on keeping my car for a long time, not only a manual swap but engine swap as well.

BTW if i swap the manual the same timeas the engine (the engine comes with ECU, 5 speed and all tht) will i have to buy other parts for the manual swap part?

U will neeed a lot more...u will need a new interior where the boot is and another pedal and everything.....i wish i had ggot a stick at the bbeginingg

Mine didnt really shift hard...but I had more shift shock once I added the I/H/E

wht do u mean by new interior? i noe i wish i had gottn stick first but this car was at a decent price (or i thought biga$s leak in the trunk, factory air box was held on by tie raps, right fender was replaced but a crapy job done, and a few other things) the thing is my parents wont let me sell this car and get something else cause of insurance changes and all tht.

thts y i wana manual swap it and SOON. my trany is seriously starting to quit on me, thts y any type of help would b appreciated cause im a newbie whn it comes to this type of work. thanks
