Default 96-99 AT Civic owners

So I read that all 96-99 AT Civics have problem wit the linear solenoid (whatever that means). The symptom is shifting is harsh or may stay in first gear. I just wanna know if anyone here have this problem.

I got the information above from here: http://autorepair.about.com/cs/faqs/l/bl127e.htm

i plan on keeping my car for a long time, not only a manual swap but engine swap as well.

BTW if i swap the manual the same timeas the engine (the engine comes with ECU, 5 speed and all tht) will i have to buy other parts for the manual swap part?

wht do u mean by new interior? i noe i wish i had gottn stick first but this car was at a decent price (or i thought biga$s leak in the trunk, factory air box was held on by tie raps, right fender was replaced but a crapy job done, and a few other things) the thing is my parents wont let me sell this car and get something else cause of insurance changes and all tht.

thts y i wana manual swap it and SOON. my trany is seriously starting to quit on me, thts y any type of help would b appreciated cause im a newbie whn it comes to this type of work. thanks
