Default 97 Civic LX in toronto oil change once a year 5w20 or 5w30?

Hi

I have a 97 civic LX and live in Toronto..

I dont drive the car much about 5-6000 kms per year and mostly short ride so dont feel the need to change oil more often than once a year.

I am due for a oil change now, which oil do you guys recommend 5w20 or 5w30 for the cold weather and once a year change.

I am getting oil change deals from 2 places one is giving 5w20 and other 5w30 hence wanted to know..

Stick with the recommendation on the oil fill cap. Usually 5w-30. 5w-20 is pretty thin and since you're driving it all year with that oil I'd go with the thicker stuff.

Also, you really should be changing it every season if you don't go over the oil change mileage.
