About to buy the new Civic SI, need some advice
Hi Everyone,
I'm about to go to the dealership tonight and buy an 07 Civic SI.
Last time I bought a car I didn't research it correctly and made a bunch of mistakes. Is there anything I should know? what is a good price to offer for the car?are there any features or optionsI should make sure the car has?
Thanks in advance!

those are really great cars. I think the only way to be able to tell whats wrong with the interior, is if you actually own the car. I thought my interior was perfect, then a month later i HATED and still HATE the cup holders.

try to pay below MSRP. dealers are still gouging the prices on them, but if you search some you can find a dealer willing to sell you one less than MSRP even if it's just a $100 or $200 below.

Now is the time to get Honda options for the Si. You can negotiate better pricing on those items at sale time - like fog lamps, CD changer, XM... If you get it base and try to add those on later, you will end up paying a LOT more. Many dealers will greatly discount the install and pricing to sell the car. On an Si it's tough, though, as the next guy walking through the door will buy it if you don't.

I suggest you do the ConsumerReports price report, costs like $20 or so. That way you get the actual price the dealer paid for the car and you can negotiate from there. At the least, go to edmunds.com and get their price report. Not quite as accurate as CR, but close.
Bought my Mom's '03 and my '06 that way and paid 6% over the dealer's cost.
Let us know how it turns out.
Good luck!

Or you could do this. Your car will loose like 2-4k as soon as it leaves the lot because its used.
Look in the paper for a used on of this year or whatever with low miles and away you go for a LOT less.
