my friend has a 91 acura integra that needs a new tranny my question is if the 89 integra tranny will bolt up cause we could get one from a junk yard for cheap and then rebuild it does anyone know if this is the case?

 

Check the engine codes of the two motors. If they are the same series B, D, F, etc, as each other then it will work.

just check the motor code on the 89, because some came with the d16a1 which wont bolt up to a b18, any 90-93 integra will have the right trans, you need a cable trans from any b" series motor.

 

there both b16's so I figured they would but thanks for the information. we could only find a manual in the area the rest for his year were autos

 

D series transmissions only bolt up to dseries (even the DOHC D series)
F and H series are one and the same, one is just an economy motor. you can interchange these transmisions out of accords 90 and up and preludes 92 and up

I am not compmletely sure about the A and B series out of preludes 91 and back... have no clue, but the accords 89 and down use the same motor....
