Default Air Bag Problems

Car is a '96 Civic LX

I had both airbags and the air bag module stolen from my car a while ago. I have since obtained new (used from another Civic) air bags and module and have installed them as per the manual. The SRS light just stays on. The passenger air bag connector on the car side is missing (just the plastic piece) but the two metal pins are still there. I have tried putting the pins in every way possible into the air bag connector but the SRS light stays on. Does it matter which wire goes where? The SRS fuse is not blown. Is there any way I can determine what the problem is (can I read a code somehow)? TIA

could try taking the battery cable off after you install the wiring, let it chill for a while and plug it back in, but I have to stress airbag saftey is a big thing. I would hate to chance an install myself and end up regretting it later.

I would probably suggest consulting a dealer.

^ I would second this. You don't want this stuff to shoot in your face in the most unfortunate moment [:-]

i know when my light was on after i pulled the fuse to check it i hadd to take it to the dealer so they can hook it up to their hand held machine and get rid of the light.
