Which alarm system is good?

I'm trying to install alarm/keyless entry on my 97 Civic EX.
Which one is good? I've looked at Viper, Clifford, and Compustar, and they all seem to be pretty good.
I'm interested in Viper 650 xv though..
If there is anyone who tried some of these alarms, give me some info!
I appreciate it.

Oh and does keyless entry automatically gets installed when I install an alarm or do I have to get it separately?

I've been a Viper fan all my driving life. I had the simple kill switch/siren for my Camry and now I'm loving the remote feedback/kill switch/siren model. If you have an automatic, get the remote starter, that ****'s banging. Clifford is a good one too with many similar options. Don't know anything about Compustar.

Viper seems to be the best choice, but for the same money, I can get the 2 way paging alarm (No name brand I guess...)
Is Viper still better?
Check this out.

http://www.onlinedigit.com/ww168.htm

This has got basically everything with the paging alarm. If I were to get Viper or Compustar paging alarm it'll cost me at least 500-700 bucks.
I was just wondering if Viper, Clifford and Compustar are expensive because they are "name" brands. Just like how dealer is usuallly more expensive than the local garage when you do the oil change and stuff.

The cheapest Viper was $250 Installed, it's 300HF, it seems like an older model.
But if everyone still suggest Viper over the one above, I guess I'll go with Viper.
I need more inputs!!!
Thanks.:D

RE: Which alarm system is good?

reason i suggest viper/ DEI is reliability. ive had mine for over 3 years and it functions like the day i bought it. ive ran other cheap stuff which tends to fail quickly. IMO $300 spent now is well worth it compared to possibly more down the line.

get the viper. ive gone through a few alarms in my car and friends cars. the DEI (VIper, Clifford) stuff is great, its not just a name brand thing. the compustar is ok, but i like viper responder better. ive had my clifford for almost three years, with NO problems. except the rmotes wearing out a little (cosmetically), but i havent even had to change the batteries in them. my wife has a viper in her car, with a remote start that has been there about a year with no problems either. my brother had a Viper 800 and it was one of the best alarms ive seen. but with any alarm, get a back up battery. my bros didnt have one when it got stolen, it would have changed everything. a buddy of mine got one of those cheap ass pager ones, it was like 1-200, i dont remember how much. what a waste. it wouldnt do anything. it never worked right, it wouldnt do anything it was supposed to. it wouldnt even go off when you opened the door. but it would go off randomly while driving. get the name brand.

RE: Which alarm system is good?

Now I think about it, the cheap pager ones don't even have dual stage shock sensor, so if someone walks by and hit my car very lightly with a shopping bag or something, the alarm will go off. I'm pretty sure that it has other ****ty non-working features too!

I decided to go for a Viper(300HF) without the pager since pager thingy costs tooooooo much.

Anyways, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE SMART DECISION GUYS!!!!!:D:):D

That's beat. I paid $400. Come to San Diego and I'll hook you up.
