Default Better Fuel Economy from Increased Spark Gap?

For my Honda, they sell an MSD Distributor Cap that uses an external higher capacity coil. I was wondering if I got this and increased my spark plug gap, would fuel economy increase?

Has anyone already tried this and how did it work out?

If only it were that simple, wouldn't Honda have done it already?

The stock Civic ignition is actually pretty strong as stock ignitions go.

ya i dont think youd get any beter fuel economy.... the pedal may feel more responsive at higher rpms but i highly doubt any better economy if anything worse because your gonna be pedaling it harder
