black smoke, bad rings?

my 1995 eg started blowing a little bit of smoke the other day and i'm thinking its because of bad rings. anyone know more about this?

Black smoke is usually a fuel mixture problem (too rich). Is the CEL on?

How much oil does it consume? When the rings are bad you'll be having to add oil every 1000 miles or less.

Black = ok

White =bad.

I'm not sure about the CEL and i haven't had to add any oil lately but i believe it does need an oil change. I just got the car not to long ago and was just wondering what it could be

that may gbe the caser or the oil filter gasket may have melted on the block it happened to my 93 civic. i do recommend oil change. What punisher was talkin about white=bad means you have a blown head gasket or possibly your blowing your motor im nopt sure what hes going for.

white smoke sometimes means, ur fuel mixture is too lean.

i'm pretty sure it's not blowing white smoke and i think the head gaskets fine. it may just be in need of an oil change because its getting somewhat dark

change the oil, if it still blows smoke after an hour then check you air/fuel mixture im not sure how to work with that on pgfi but if it does post it up

hopefully an oil change does it but if not then the air/fuel ratio shouldnt be to hard to figure out...
