Default Buying Advice

I appreciatedeveryones input onthe civic I was trying to buy so I thought I would try again. The last guy soldhis civic before I got to look at it. So Im trying again.

Im now looking at a 1998, 5 speed,2dr Coupe with69,000 miles, power windows/locks, tape/am/fm, car alarm, etc. Car is in good condition. He wants $4200. There is no AC and never has been. My question to the board is can I haveAC installed in this caror not? I know in the old days if a car didnt come with AC you were hosed but is that the same with a Civic? I know I can buy a whole new system for around $600 but can it be put inor not?

Thanks!

Yea, honda sells an a/c kit. That's how people still got A/C in the lower models like DX. If you go to hondaautomotiveparts.com they have the kit. I've seen it for my Del Sol. It was like 500 bucks or something.

i'm not sure about this, but i think the car has the ducts in it already, just not the parts that actually make the air cooler. i.e. hoses, compressor, condenser, evaporator, etc.

That sounds like a good car, it had very low miles. And yeah its the base model dx, those dont have ac, but you can install it if you want.
