Thumbs up buying hx rims

Is $180+tax a good price for hx rims with no tires? A local junk yard is selling 4 hx rims off of a 2000 civic. Just wondering if 180 is a good price or not. And should I haggle the price with them? Maybe get them cheaper. They are 45 a tire. Maybe 40 a tire?? Thanks for any input.

That feels like too much for just rims alone. I just looked at HT and found a set for $220 in black primer with tires and another thats $150 rims and bad tires.

yea. but in mass this wheels arent that easy to find. especially stock (not being painted or anything like that) i might ask them 160 for all 4. thats a decent price. and i dont have to worry about shipping and all that. but i have to make sure that all have the center caps and no scratches or anything.

Are your current wheels 14"? Couldn't you just take the tires off of those and slap them on the HXs? Or do the tires need replacement in general?

IMO, $180 for all 4 wheels isn't that bad. I would try and get him $150 and under by saying something like, "well the tires will end up coming out to $300 total and I only have $450 to spend on the whole package"...something along those lines.

unfortunantely, the wheels i currenntly have are 15's. i wish i could swap tires. the tires on my wheels now are in pretty good shape. they only have a year 1/2 on them.

the thing is, i dont want to drive all the way up there (hour 1/2) and find that they are scratched or missing the center caps, or bent or something like that. but i think thats what im going to have to do. but the wheel wont go on, until the summer. I want to paint them gunmetal.

He doesn't have pictures???? Dont go if he cannot supply pictures. I have been pressured into buying things from CL sellers after driving a decent distance to check something out, only to be disappointed.

No pics in the CL ad, I don't reply to it.

For a clean set of hx's that is a pretty good price. I have seen rims alone sell for 300. As long as they are clean and straight it's a good deal man. Gunmetal should be sick.

^ maybe try reading the first post again lol.

I'd say if he can't get you pics, it's not worth it. there will always be another chance. I've learned that.
