Default Buying my first civic, a few pros and cons..

Hi, first of all, I've done my research and I have chosen to buy a Honda Civic. I've heard they have a great reputation for reliability, which brings me to wonder:

Is a Civic with a high mileage but good mechanical condition worth buying?

I've seen some pretty cool looking cars with attractive features (EX) and attractive prices, but the mileage was pretty up there (200 000km +, which would be like 125 000 miles..) The thing is, I've heard Civics were indestructible and could last up to 500 000km+ if well taken care of.. so I don't see the problem with buying a car with a higher mileage, right?

So, what do you think... Should I stick with the more expensive but lower mileage cars, or is it worth looking into the higher mileage vehicles also?

just keep in mind that it doesn't matter what car, when you get a car with more 100k miles, there are are gonna be repairs that will cost you money. Yes a civic will last for 300k+ miles, but that is with the proper care. If the previous owner didn't take good care of a car with more than 100k miles you could see some really costly repairs. the lower mileage the less likely the previous owner had the chance to do damage that could be easily avoided, you kind of have to just judge it by the car and it's owner, hope that helps. To answer your question i always try to get as low mileage as possible
