Honestly, that isn't too bad of a deal. My friend just bought an 06 LX coupe 5 spd with like 65k for ~$11k. I don't think the Honda Dealership gave her any sort of either.

Yes, the "younger" crowd would tend to beat on the loaner cars, but how often does a "younger" person take their car into Honda for work? How many "younger" kids actually own a new-ish Civic? I would imagine that these loaner cars you speak of are not too bad. Where do you live, I will come down and buy one. ;)

I work at a dealership, our loaners are beat to crap. by customers and our employees alike. now on the other end, all our service is perfectly up to date, oil changes done twice the normal amount, new tires and brakes. very well serviced, just beat on. where as a private owner may have done their own brake work and done it poorly, or missed a few oil changes here and there. so whats more important to you?

good points i guess it's a crap shoot even a privite owned car could be beat on but not serviced well. i'll have to go with my gut when i see them. a warenty is key.

my final word on those loaner cars i've seen 5 of them all had dings dents and scratches..so i picked 3 of the nicest ones and looked at the car fax's one had a minor accident..... but ready for this one had it's first oil change at 12,000 mi then about every 6 or 8k the others averaged every 8 or 10k and no they were not useing syn. oil it's not even a blend..you had to see the looks on there faces..they tryed to disprove it but could not..
