So I just ordered a type R grill, and am planning on doing the painting myself. Later, I want to paint my calipers. Question is, can I use the same paint, seeing as I want the same color? Or should I use different kinds for each?

 

The paint will work, but it'll probably eventually chip off the calipers. The engine enamel I sprayed mine with is starting to chip after 2 years.

 

You'll find that caliper paint (especially the paint that comes in the caliper painting kits)
Is very different from a regular paint that you would use to paint your grill

 

Pay the extra little bit to have a proper paint for both applications. The calipers get too hot to handle conventional paint.

 

Would you guys reccomend using primer? It's an ABS Ebay grill, and says it's ready to paint.
