Is this car suspicious?

Hey guys, i've been scouting cars.com, autotrader.com, autoshopper.com and cragislist for the past couple of weeks trying to find an 06 black coupe. Believe me it's hard to find a used EX coupe on black on black with manual tranny.

Last night i saw this new ad in cars.com

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...adExists=false

one thing i notice is that it's unbelievably cheap. It's from a honda dealer and it's certified. there are 4 records found in carfax, i haven't seen the full report yet. any su****ions? a civic with spec like that goes around 17 to 17500 on some other dealers

bbspell22 07-31-2008 10:23 AM

i would make em show me an actual pic of the car. But yeah thats way low. Im selling my 2002 ex for 11500 and getting lots of offers

ej6buddy 07-31-2008 10:43 AM

actual pictures of the car on THEIR lot would help

jeff_o 07-31-2008 01:23 PM

yeah. i was also gathering info about that neighborhood, some say it's a no no some say it's good. I called up the dealership and that guy hasn't called me back yet. I'll give em a call later and let you guys know. Thanks for the inputs.

Plus, it's Honda certified but they did not put up the actual carfax report. hmmm... it just says 4 records in carfax record check.

i'd say something is wrong with it at that price i bet it has a crash history. a new car with 20% damage the dealer doesn't have to disclose it. and honda certified doesn't mean your getting a good car ive seen some dealers certify a car a quick drive around the lot and a clean up

ej6buddy 07-31-2008 02:15 PM

i'd rather pay a little more on a car with an average price than from a shady car lot that doesn't bother to call you back. and only go with dealers that have pretty much all good feedback, or you'll be sorry you didn't read the small print or "invisible" print they usually hide.

lol certified is pretty much crap. you can certify any car by just geting into the car and testing out everything. very simple! wipers/headlighs/heater/ac brakes/power locks..... really simple stuff we talking about!!!!!!

tho even tho the cars been wrecked doesnt mean the cars junk. main thing is check it all out really closely! look for paint not lining up or paint on some bolts and check out the body and if posible ask if you can have them put the car up on the lift for you to check out the underbody ;) check for anything bent badly.
as long as the fix was done good it wouldnt bother me much at all. just look over the car really really good before signing any papers!
good luck with your search.
