Change of plans [Help?]

I've gone through so many ideas of what I want to do with my car. I started off wanting to put a turbo on it, then I wanted to do a transmission swap (which I'm still considering) and now I'm thinking of swapping the engine completely. If I do end up swapping the engine, what kind of engine should I swap mine with? Keep in mind that I have a '97 Ex D16Y8 SOHC VTEC.

Any suggestions?

B series would be nice, but you would still have to change the transmission too

I say go with a B series engine swap. Honda D engines are not really that powerful, unless you have the DOHC ZC engine.

Why would I still have to change the transmission?

Save your money, then change out the engine and change the transmission to stick shift, and kill two birds with one stone

thats my plan also, engine+tranny at the same time. So a B16A, B16B would work fine. What about a H22A?
