Hello, I'm considering buying a 2006 Civic Coupe DX-G with 175,000 km. 1 owner (women) mainly highway and she says she has all her maintenance docuemnts. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on these newer civics and if they can handle the high milage, and maybe what I should be looking at when assessing the vehicle. I currently have a 97 civic with 160,000km and the thing is rock solid.

An 06 that's that high already? Anything is fine when it had been properly maintained, especially a Honda. I don't know how the newer engines hold up though.

 

I figure she's doing about 800km a week. I don't think there's much doubt that it's mainly highway miles. As for the engine, I don't think anyone really knows how well these newer engines can hold up but what I have heard is that vehicles these days aren't made as resistant as before. I think the trend applies to everything (fridge, washers, etc...).
