civic lease
Hi everyone,
New to the forum. Long time V8 Tundra owner. Recently changed careers and need something more economical on Gas. Have been shopping around for something that i could fit into somewhat comfortably ( am 6-1) Was sold on toyota corolla until I sat into the civic today. Very Very impressed with the size, headroom and features. I have a couple of questions. Is there any availability on the manual tranny as of yet?? I am in NY. the dealer i was at was not interested in talking about them really. Said he never sees them. I love stick, and figure that it would save a couple $$ on price Has anyone recently leased a 2013. Is there any hope of getting a 3 yr, 15K lease for around $200.? I am not selling my pickup, and if I can get a monthly around $200, then with ins/gas etc i will be around where I am with monthly gas on my v8 will I really get ~ 30MPG avg? thanks everyone. looking forward to owning one |
So if you go to Honda's website and "Build" a Civic Sedan, it looks like only the LX comes in manual. There is one LX model, and four EX models. I think you're going to have a hard time finding a manual.
I finished "the build", with no extra accessories, and ordering straight from Honda (which is what you might have to do, to get a manual), leasing for 36 months with an estimated 15000 miles per year, the monthly lease payment is $340. I have driven two civics before (currently drive a Honda 2011 CR-Z EX), but I am not familiar with the 2013 civic. I have seen it on the road, but you can bet it will be just as good, or better, than previous ones. To keep your monthly payments down, consider getting a 2012 civic. I am not familiar enough with leasing, to know if you can lease a used car (if last owner leased, too, assuming no more brand new 2012s are left). |
Thanks for your reply. My goal is fuel savings, and low monthly. With ins & gas I don't want to be much about 400 / month
I will be trying to drive a bargain maybe at month end - Tomorrow.. Will let you guys know how I do.. maybe it will not happen thanks |
With insurance and gas factored in, I don't think you're going to be able to stay in the budget you want to with a new car. Look into financing a used?

Hi Everyone, Thanks for your earlier responses. I persevered and in the last couple of days of Feb, I visited about 5 honda dealerships btwn CT and NY. As I was giving up on getting a deal within my budget, I walked into Brewster Honda, in Putnam County, NY and the first price the gave me was $219/Month with First Month and DMV down only. This was Vs. $279 w/~1500 down in a dealership not 20 minutes away for same car and no room to negotiate.
At that point it was an easy negotiation to get to $200/Month. I Paid out the door.... $200 First month, ~$220 for DMV, inspection. tire tax etc and $280 was up front cash for a total of $700 out the door. That was $200 more than I wanted to, but also the best deal i found in 3 counties around where i live. Honda Civic LX, Auto, 15K lease 36 months Wanted to share. Carlos was straight to the point, and realistic - Yes... he had to work with "the Man" at the counter. I am not sure how they made the numbers work but they did. Would recommend them. |
Glad you got the car you wanted
