Default civic vs accord?

Hello there, I will start my working life soon. Thinking of getting a car.

In my mind now is Honda civic <year 96 and Honda accord <year 96. Will try to modify my very 1st car. do anyone can suggest me what is the different between accord and a civic? which 1 having more potential to modify in term of power/ speed? Is the engine H22A the best option I can have?

Thanks

h22 is the best option for the accord, k20 is the best option for the civic. In terms of speed potential the civic wins, in terms of comfort the accord wins

Civic vs Accord: The accord is bigger and heavier, while the Civic is smaller and lighter. If you are going for power and speed, the Civic is the car for you.

The k20 is what comes in the newest Civics, like the Si and Type R models. It's a newer, more powerful design that has a lot of potential for speed and power. The only real downside is that it's a more expensive engine.
