Lightbulb Cleaning Vtec Solenoid Cap

hey guys yeah my vtec solenoid cap looks pretty dingy i dont wanna take it apart, just clean the oem cap, what can i use that wont be harmful to it? wire brush idk something? thanks guys

It is metal. Sandpaper, wire brush, whatever. I seriously doubt you will damage it.

oh ok what about solenoid caps do they just screw on top or do i have to remove the oem one?

I'd just get a sheet of sandpaper and clean it up on the car, without taking it off. Spray it with some brake cleaner first to get the surface gunk off, then sand it down. Shouldn't take 10 minutes.

Yes, the cap has a little screw on the back that you tighten against the Vtec solenoid for looks only.

^ oh ok so it is it? cus i noticed a little screw, i dont wanna take it off, just wanna pretty it up, and my tranny is good, its just the shifter bushing, thank god haha im gonna get the password jdm bushings, are they good? better than bwr

i just sanded it with 220 grit, and put on some degreaser and metal polish to seal it, hopefully it doesnt rust, do the aftermarket solenoid caps just screw on top?
