ok after i run my engine for a wile. like to work or a distince like that. i seem to hear a constant clicking noise coming from my engine. now i havent seen anyproblems with it thus far. but some time it gets me wondering. what can this be?

 

Could be lifter tick, do the click increase if you rev the engine?

I think lifter tick is when hydraulic lifters get stuck. This can be caused by bad lifters or if you haven't changed your oil in forever.

 

but its a regular thing. my car still hauls *** its not super loud. its just there. btw my oil is barely ever dirty. i change it way to often. could it just be nothing?

 

get your lifters adjusted.

 

Im thinking that on a new car such as what the DJ has (you have an 01-05 right?) that the lifter would be hydraulic and should self adjust. But i don't know much about lifters so maybe they can be adjusted.

 

Hydraulic lifters stick too. 4G63s have that problem all the time. But yes, they do self-adjust (that's the point). You might need a valve adjustment. Check your oil level too. But a slight clicking noise is common on almost any Honda engine.

 

i heard a clicking in my car, and i opend my hood, and i found out that it was the bracket for my intake, the kid that had the car before me broke it putting it on i think, but it still stays in place it just clicks every once in a while...lol, check your lifters tho, that sounds like that is what it is.

 

so its no big deal then right?
