Clunky 4th gear shift
what could be causing this? i shift from 3rd to 4th and it makes a clunky sounds not a grind but a clunk and it feels like it is in the shifter, (i found that it isnt my tranny doin this) and it makes like a clunky grind and is felt within the shifter, i am getting password jdm shifter bushings and probably a short shifter and probably will get a weighted shift knob, do you think this will fix it? or what else could be the cause?

Don't start new threads about the same problem.

Seriously, how many times do we have to read about a worn 4th gear syncro...
|
it isnt the synchro tho, sorry guys if it pissed anyone off, but im being told that it is the shifter bushing i just want conformation sorry :/
|
OK you want to believe that it isn't the syncro, despite several people here telling you that it is. Regardless, continued musings about shifting to fourth belongs in the original thread.

ok, but the tranny doesnt make a grinding noise its not a high pitch tranny grind, ive had that happen and this isnt it, i feel it all in the shifter and only happens when im goin fast so the synchro isnt the problem. its when i shift from 3rd to 4th at normal speed it sometimes makes a clunk , not a loud tranny noise where you basically blow it, this feels like it is all in the shifter, like maybe the bushings are shot, im going to replace them
