cruise control

Sorry if I am in the wrong place ( please redirect me) I have a 96 civic (stock) 5 speed, dash button light works, steering button light comes on, checked gromits on both clutch and brake pedal ( 1 each ) still no cruise any idea where to go from here?

When the cruise light lights up after you press the set button, the control unit has decided it's OK to engage. So it's not a problem with the pedal switches. Check the actuator and throttle cable. If it's a vacuum powered actuator, make sure the vacuum hose is hooked up.

I'm having the same problem, (1997, EX, Manual -switch on, dash lights up), and my hoses are hooked up. I disconnected the hose between the actuator and the vacuum tank and I heard air suck in. Any idea what would cause this problem? It was working, and now just suddenly stopped.
