D16Y7 Mini Me

What exactly does a mini me swap do to an engine and is it street legal? What are some of the benefits and disadvantages of it? I'm looking in to one for a D16Y7, what heads would I get for it? Thanks for any help with these questions.

it gives you VTEC, which works like THIS. It's done by swapping a VTEC head onto a non-VTEC block and also converting your ECU to a VTEC ECU.

In my opinion if you're thinking about going F/I in the future i'd save the $600 or so that it will take for the mini-me for the boost, buts thats jut me. The VTEC combined with a new Intake Manifold (if you choose to that as well, which is pretty common), the gains will be noticable, but i'd still rather have boost.

Alright, what if I'm planning on keeping my car N/A, is it a good idea then? And also, if I did it, would I want to get parts for the Y7 or Y8?

the V-tec motors are the Y8, so to do the mini-me swap you would need the Y8 parts so get shopping buddy.
One thread jacking question from me < : )
Is the mini-me swap really worth the effort? I have the Y7 and the Y8 was only available in Canada as the Si (so no B-series for us) and those are hard to come by.
