eg civic problems

I may buy a used 93 civic coupe this weekend.

the car has 190,000 miles on it but has a real clean carfax history.

is there anything I should look for as far as possible problems for the car, especially the drivetrain?

I heard that engine ticking, clicking or knocking may be an indicator of the piston rods or VTEC actuation may be faltering.

The ticking means that the valves need to be adjusted. Knocking means there is something wrong with the engine and it isn't firing correctly.

ignore the carfax when you go look at the car.

Mine was clean too, but when I pulled off the front bumper to install new lights I saw twisted metal.

~explains why the AC won't hold pressure :D
