i just bought a 99 civic si with the b18c motor, but it don't have no number after that, does anyone know if that's a gsr or type r? I bought the car for 5 grand at an auto sales place in Killeen texas and i asked if they could give me the number to the guy who traded it in to them so i could get some info, but he couldn't do that. So maybe someone here can help me out.

Ok, my friend keeps telling me it's a GSR motor so it's a type R. He told me if it was a type r then the number would say b18c5 i think is what he said.

B18C and B18C5 are both Type R's
B18C has higher compression and has 200BHP. B18C5 has 195BHP.
B18C1 is the GSR.

Congrats on the new car, definitely an upgrade! Nice price, too. How many miles on the body? What about the engine? Lets see some pics!
