Default Engine swapping

My engine just gave out on me, and to be build is about $600 plus mechanic but if I'm going to spend that much amount of money what do you guys recommend swapping into without doing any modifications or some modifications I can spend a little more, I have a 98 civic ex coupe automatic, thanks

Ummm wut.

You have a blown engine and you have $600 to spend and labor needs to be included?

Keep saving, or do the work your self. You are looking at getting a replacement D series motor for that $600 price.

Figure out how much power you want to see, and how much motors cost. Hmotoronline.com is a good site, however, you mind find people local on Craigslist that have something available.

How much power do you want? What are you plans for the car? Track? Daily driven? Auto cross?

Sorry to say this, but $800 will not be enough unless you half *** everything and get a motor from shady person on craigslist or w/e when planning on swapping to the most "common" motors.
