Default Drifting

I let my friend drive my car the other day and he did something in it that I thought was awesome. Drift. I know pretty much what I'm doing, but could you guys give me some pointers. I do it going around + intersections and sometimes just tweak it in the middle of the street if there's no one around. I'm usually in mid - high second. Here's what I do. Mid second, pull a right angle corner (left or right) going about ehhh 20-35(depends on traffic and corner location), pull the e-brake let the rear end slide out. slam on the gas. Sometimes I countersteer, sometimes I don't, depends on how far the rear goes, and take off!
Is this right, I mean I havent crashed.... yet or anything. any tips would be great.

THANKS!!!!!!

Thst's actually a power slide. I can't imagine a drift on a FWD car. In the actual drift, the car slides in an angle for some time with rear wheels spinning after exiting a corner. It's kinda hard to explain. Watch a movie like "Drift Bible" and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah, sounds like you're about right, but to do a real drift, you need a RWD car.

a power slide is in a rwd when you give it gas and the rear end kicks out. a drift is when all four wheels are going sideways and you countersteer enough to keep from facing the inside. and in an ff, there really is no "right" way to do it. its not really drifting, its just sliding. but just cause its not right, doesnt mean its not fun. be careful though.

it would be VERY hard to drift in a fwd car unless u really stiffen the rear suspenion. take it easy though.

well setup the suspension so that the front has more roll than the rear, which can be done with a tiny front sway bar and beefy rear sway bar...
it will help a little, basically get your car to handle neutrally in corners, but heres what you do to get the rear to kick out after you setup the supsension

turn really fast.. and ease off the gas that will get the rear to start to slide, when its wet outside it will wanna step out faster than normal

chances are you wont really need to countersteer
but its fun nonetheless, altho you could wait til its nice and icy out, and then you can tug the ebrake
