Hello, Just purchased a new civic lx last week and the dealer talked me into the extended warranty. I have since decided i do not want the warranty . Howhard is it tocancel? The car isfinanced through honda.Howdoes the refund work?

 

You'll find the answer in the contract itself. You can cancel, no questions asked, within 60 days (including weekends) of the application date, after that you can only cancel if the car is written off or a new buyer really doesn't want the plan, but that costs a penalty negotiable with the rep who sold you the contract. If you decide after those two months that you really don't want the plan then the dealer might cancel it as good will with a negotiable penalty. All of this is assuming no claims have been made, including RA.

I'm assuming the plan wascirca $1500 and extends the warranty to 7 years or 160,000 Km including RA? That's not so bad if you're notmodding the car.
