is this a fair trade?

I want to trade this guy but i am wondering if it is a "fair" trade.

i have
a 1200 watt sony xplod amp ($250 alone)
and the 2 12's are...
one is a 1000 watt sony xpold
the other is a pioneer 800 watt.
custom made box.

The two subs are different colors but it does not really matter.

what he is trading me is

s set of Megan Racing Headers and a obx high flow cat.....to attach to my Greddy catback.

i did research oh ligit sites....

Megan Racing Headers: $169.95

Obx high flow cat- $129.00

good trade or no?

not really considering that you are losing money... and the high flow cat will only net like 1 hp... totally not worth it. Is the header used because that lowers price as well

B_Ray 12-04-2008 06:34 PM

ya but i cant sell my subs anywhere.
i put them on CL starting at 250.
then next week 200
then 150 and people are sending me offers like $80 take it or leave it.

so ya.
it sucks.
but ya im not looking for HP just to have a full exhaust and take my stock headers and cat off and attach them to my new Greddy Cat-back

idk.
because some kid wants to trade for a set of wheels (which i also need lol)

Josh, I believe what you're thinking of is the 1hp difference between a high-flow cat and a test pipe. High-flow cats are more like a 5-10hp gain (probably not that high on a civic, but definitely higher than 1hp).

But personally, if the wheels are nice, I'd probably be more apt to trade for the wheels.

PunisherInOKC 12-04-2008 06:52 PM

Kinda going to agree with reaper.
The wheels sound like a better deal.

And a personal touch - if you think what you have is worth more than your trading - make it known. Don't settle for other people's offers. People are always going to try to get the better end in all trades. So if you feel like its uneven trade - tell them you'll take their stuff, and $$$$! Worse that's going to happen is they will say No. You'll still have the original deal to go back to.

yah you're right i just checked my source, it was exactly what you said it was chris =[ damn my reading skills are falling into disrepair stoopid kolledge makin me more stupider =]

B_Ray 12-04-2008 07:18 PM

i like them alot though.

dropping the headers and cat.

getting the wheels.

this is the issue with the wheels.
ill send you the link.

there 17" universal 4 lugs.
so i know they will fit but need to know if they will fit good without a or minimal rubbing.
does anybody have 17's on their civic.?

reaper2022 12-04-2008 07:31 PM

I had 17's on my old EG, and that ish was slammed to the ground, no real rubbing (only when the wheels were at full lock and I hit a bump). I really can't tell you if they'll rub or not unless I know wheel width (I'd assume 7"), tire size, and wheel offset. Also, what year civic do you have? With a 5th/6th gen at least, you'll want a +40 to a +45mm offset with 205/40-17 tires to avoid rubbing (and even with a +40 offset you might have slight rubbing if you're lowered, but it's nothing that can't be fixed by rolling the fenders)

(And woot for random power gain number retention :D)

jprommel 12-04-2008 07:32 PM

you are very lucky. Chris is the wheel god any questions bout wheels hes your man and hes subscribed to the thread lol so its only a matter of time

edit and he beat me...
