Lx vs. Ex 2002 civic automatic RIM JOB?
2002 CIVIC LX can I use the EX factory rims and not kill the gear ratios. I do not want to degrade Performance or MPG on my LX it does have 170,000 I did re-build the AUTO transmission last Spring. 14 inch rims LX and 15 inch rims on EX. Are gear ratios different in EX vs LX, engines are different but Auto Transmission same or ??

As long as the wheels on both sides are the same in the front, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. The speedo might be slightly off due to the larger diameter, but this won't cause any damage.

Not worried about damage or staggered tires. I researched the EX and LX transmissions they are different part numbers, gear box ratios are not the same because of 14” or 15” tires. If you cross tire size from 14” to 15” you will impact MPG and performance. You could look cool though.

You could always run a thinner tire on the 15's so that the overall diameter of rim and tire is the same as it was with the 14's. Hell, I went from a 17" wheel to a 15" on my Miata with no ill effects. There's a link out there that will allow you to determine how the speedo will change if using a different tire or wheel size.

Be careful to not speak so definitively. A 14" wheel with a tall tire could actually be bigger in terms of overall diameter when compared to 15's with low profile tires. Here is the site I use to determine changes when swapping wheels. Don't over think this.
