Default Found 95 civic...need opinions..

Hey Guys im new to civics as to I had a 240sx and I found a black 95 civic and need opinions. On back of car it says Honda civic DX but the motor is a rebuilt 1.6 vtec with just 5,000 miles on it. He also has the receipts for that.He said it was original motor but I dont know if a DX has a Vtec motor. The body has over 200,000 miles on it but just a little dent here and their. Inside is perfect clean with no tears or wears in seats or anything. Power everything.Cruise control works.Has civic si wheels. Also on front and back those weird lights on all the civics now. Short shifter. New cat to.Also drives awesome. He is asking $3200.Fair?

Either the trunk has been replaced with an EX/Si trunk or the motor isn't original. The original motor is a 1.5L non v-tec with the engine code D15b7 and the EX/Si motor is the 1.6L motor that is in it. If you want, look up a website that decodes the vin number. It will tell you where it was made and the actual trim level which will tell you what the original motor was.

Well im getting it tonight regardless just because it looks like the perfect car for me as im 20 and need a good gas mileage car for college. Inside is unbelieveably cleanest or cleaner than new cars. I searched kellybluebook.com since forgot about it and with all accessories its saying 3100 is a good price? So I guess thats good. Its also a coupe if havent said that yet.

Also. The guy did say it was a 1.6 so I assume its the vtec. From remembering looking at the motor im sure it said vtec to. I would of got it yesterday for which he said the title is clean and locked in a safe at his moms?

Well in about 2 hours ill be meeting him and him giving me title along with me giving him the mooola. Its around 5000 miles now and he said right now he is getting actual oil change at some val. store. He also told me he took it to some special honda shops and had them look at it around 1500miles after the rebuilt motor and they said its in great condition like pistons.

Also, what I wanna know about civics is, when I had my 95 240sx and same time my friend had a 95 civic ex we did little street races with each other and random people on road and After like 5th time I done that my motor blew up or pistons were ****ed up cause smoking all the time.My friends civic drives it to this day with same motor and still runs strong. Both stock motors. How?

Either...

1. Engine was ready to blow.
2. You just have no idea how to drive a car....

Hope your street racing days are passed ya though?

lol Motor was prob ready just because it had over 167,000 miles on it. I wanna say I hope the street racing days are over and still have mods in the motor but I haven't drove a I guess jap car in a long while....except yesterday for test drive but was more paying attention to what he was saying about the car than having to much fun.
