Goodbye Civic A TRIBUTE (who has 56k?)

I love my 03 so much but lately I've decided that I want to waste tons of gas, meaning I want a truck. I put my civic on craigslist and in the first few hours got about 8 responses. Im mainly looking at a truck because i want to move to arizona but keep my project civic so im going to tow it with me :). Also winters coming up I am not about to drive up in a lowered civic with summer tires. But alas im going to miss my pride and joy. Pictures from top to bottom first day i got it to a week ago. Trucks pictures at bottom.

thanks I appreciate that. Also an update went to dealerships. First to look for trucks second to see if they would trade mine. First offer from chevy 7k. I literally laughed in their face and walked out. I got a call about 15 minutes later saying $9,995. Yet again I laughed only this time to squezee out a little more if I can im going to try and get $10,500. And secretly take out the wheels and subs and strut bar so they dont see. haha.

I sold my mint 89 Grand Marquis for my current Civic..... I miss the days when you didnt have to take out a loan to drive a V8!!

you need a truck or you don't? It doesn't hurt to drive a civic, lowered or not in AZ, especially in "winter".

get what you want, I just see $100 charges at the gas pump.

well thats not bad a move considering you have one civic left, and you can use for mpg

It took about $50 to fill up my civics gas tank last time, I dont even want to think about how much filling up a truck would cost.

No I do want a truck. And right now I live in cali where i go snowboarding about 120945 times during the winters. Therefore it will get demolished, secondly I need it to tow about 4k lbs so the d17 isnt gonna work with that. And finally Ive been looking more into ford rangers which the models im viewing cost about $75 to fill which isnt too bad.

Mr Mobsta Man 07-27-2008 02:44 PM

RE: Goodbye Civic A TRIBUTE (who has 56k?)

But how far does it go on $75?

RE: Goodbye Civic A TRIBUTE (who has 56k?)

man my old 95 fullsize chevy truck cost li ke 70bucks to fill its gas tank up and it wasnt as high when i had the truck.LOL
i hated filling that truck up! it was the main reason i went with a honda.
75bucks in gas goes about 250miles.LOL

RE: Goodbye Civic A TRIBUTE (who has 56k?)

Ya just under 300 miles. But its for purpose so im not going to complain. I really like this truck so itll be alright.

RE: Goodbye Civic A TRIBUTE (who has 56k?)

i wish you luck....
i loved my old truck as well BUT i also LOVE modifying my vehicles and with the cost of gas to just drive to work it was killing my bank account! i never had much money to modify anything!

especially a v8 6.0 liter truck LOL

RE: Goodbye Civic A TRIBUTE (who has 56k?)

ya that truck passed i think they stopped emailing me back so this 4.something liter v6 will get a lot better gas milage

RE: Goodbye Civic A TRIBUTE (who has 56k?)

Why not get a used Toyota Tundra, (or T100 if you have less money.) They won't have an ugly interior li ke the GM, it will be a 4x4, you will have more ground clearance, and it will tow 4k lbs no problem. Oh, and it will be better on gas and it will last forever li ke the civic.

jpnolan 07-28-2008 12:08 PM

RE: Goodbye Civic A TRIBUTE (who has 56k?)

^ o ya about that I am lookin into a tundra but they havent emailed me back so im waiting on that and, a ford ranger edge that im very interested in and we want to trade with cash coming from his end. linkey http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/770226701.html

I think a Taco might be able to tow 4k too, they're nice trucks as well if you want a smaller one.

chandler583 07-28-2008 12:36 PM

RE: Goodbye Civic A TRIBUTE (who has 56k?)

The only way a Taco would pull 4k is if you got the V6, but that would be pushing it. It's about the size of a Ranger.

jpnolan 07-28-2008 01:36 PM

RE: Goodbye Civic A TRIBUTE (who has 56k?)

ya i looked at the towing capacities of the v6 tacos and rangers and they will be fine pulling it.

RE: Goodbye Civic A TRIBUTE (who has 56k?)

It will do fine on an open road, but up steep grades would be your problem.
