I'm guessing it's a touring bike, since I'm pretty sure there aren't too many 500cc sport bikes out there, with that said... you've gotta have a REALLY modded Civic to play with it... bikes are fast... Civics are slow.

first a touring bike is like a goldwing and its not 500cc in 1975 they started off at 1000cc it might be a cruser there is a diff between them. and not all bikes are fast take the alll american harley there all slow except the v rod and all harley are a P.O.S half the parts are made in china. i can out run a lot of harleys with my civic. i ride bikes more then i drive and i have road a lot of diff bikes even the amazing harley some people in my family have them. i would much rather have a honda or suzuki. just dont think that a civic cant out run a bike.

I could probably beat a stock Civic EX on my 250CC Ninja. A 500 will prolly destroy you. Consider that a CBR600 (600CC 4 Cylinder, fuel injected engine) runs high 10, low 11 second 1/4 mile. Bikes are damn quick. Its not impossible to outrun a bike but its hard. Also, most sport bikes have a 13k RPM redline. So when you shift out of first, the bike is only half way through its power band. It will get off the line quicker b/c there is less weight + RWD. My 250 Ninja prolly runs a 14-15sec 1/4 mile.

You'll probably get owned bad, unless it's some American P.O.S. Any jap bike, even that small displacement, is going to wreck you--unless it's like a rebel or some other weenie cruiser. It's all about horsepower to weight ratio, and that's where bikes rule. What kind of bike would help though; i.e., V-twins are slow and crappy at virtually any displacement, but high-revving inline fours at any displacement can take nearly any car off the line.
