headlight restoration?

Default headlight restoration?
did i just completly screw up my head lights?

i thought i would be able to just wet send them....

and well now they look even worse then before..

you have to polish them lol, did you use a real fine grade of sand paper? the wetsand is suppost to remove debris and scratches, then you polish it.

yea i used 600 and then 1000....what do i polish them with?

You need to sand with higher than 1000... then you need to use rubbing or polishing compound.

****1000grit sand paper*****, (dont need any less) buffer wheel, rubbing compound and polish. I just did this on saturday. here are my results, post pix of how yours turned out.

what kind of polish and rubbing compound did you use?!

uhh i found out that i thought it was 1000 and it was 320 grit sand paper...and it looks horrible. i bought the compound and i used just that on the right light and it looks brand new. but i am stuck with one hella foggy left head light....i cant fix it =(

if i buy 1000 grit sand paper and wet sand it again and do the procces over will it be fine?

You can't just jump from 320 to 1000. Work your way up in grit, each stage of paper will remove the deep scratchs from before. So next use like 600 grit to bridge the gap between 320 and 1000.
