Help me out please

There is a guy in town that is wanting to sell me his 92 hatch with a built b16 in it. The only thing is that the car needs new valves and it is painted in black primer. I am wanting to know how much you guys would pay for this car. Some of the parts include hasport motor mounts, brand new act clutch, fully built bottom end which includes eagle rods, wiseco forged pistons, act race bearings, arp rod bolts and head studs. The head has a 3 angle valve job and has been machined. He wants 4000 for the car and was wondering if I could get your guys input about it.

You still have to remmember that its an old car, i wouldnt pay that much. Modding cars actually decrease the value of the car, unless the next owner really wants those mods.

There's no way I would pay $4000 for a 1992.
Like cyberx32 said, educate this guy that his mods don't increase the value of his car.
Check the car on kbb.com

Ok so how much would you guys offer this guy if you say its not worth it. He just now told me that he will keep the turbo on the car for 5000. I know it is a garret turbo and the motor is setup for the turbo. How much would you guys pay without the turbo and with the turbo. I really appreciate this. This is the first time that I am looked at buying a car that is already modded.

Again, check out the private party value on kbb.com
Then you can play it a couple ways.
You can tell him to keep the turbo, hoping he will be desperate to get rid of it since it will be harder and probably less profitable for him to sell it, and that way you will get the car and turbo for a little cheaper.
Or you can take the kbb value to him and see what he says.

Well with a turbo on the car also, it tells you that he has beaten on that motor a lot, i would not buy that car at all because you dont know how long its gonna last like that.
Oh and just lowball him if he really wants to get rid of it, he will take it. Offer like 2- 2500

That engine might have been great once, but it is blown now. You're looking at a car with a blown engine and primer paint. Price accordingly.
