Default Hood Tilt

Im just looking for answers here. Does the hood tilt mod actually do anything helpful, or does it do harm? Or it doesnt do either of those two? Again, im only looking for answers if it does anything, not how it looks, or w/e.

Its simple, it lets more air out of the engine bay...thats a good thing. It comes in through the front bumper and goes out through the tilt, most of the time people just have a cowling there.

Is there any proof of this?? It makes sense to me tht it would work, but I remember reading something that it actually screws the temps up.

no proof that I know of, but, the colder and more air going in there the better. Im not sure how it could screw up temps, then I wouldnt be able to drive in -10 every day here. I have seen the hood tilt at the track more then a few times.

It's only worthwhile on cars running F/I with super high engine bay temps. Your car won't need it.

I dont see how tilting your hood would cool off the engine. Engine bays are designed to make the air escape throught the bottum of the car. And by tilting the hood, it creates irregular airflow.

90% of the people that tilt their hoods do it for looks, even though it looks ghey.

I love random statistics... prove that 90% and I'll be your bitch for a day.

I've talked to a number of guys running high boost apps that had issues with the heat getting into the cabin, and making it unbearable hot. Lifting the hood helped A LOT in those cases. I'm sure there are plenty of Ricers out there doing it cause it's the MaD tYte JDM shizzle yO, but a lot do it for a purpose.

90% of people who put graphix on their car gain an average of 25% hp...depending on the size of the decal
