How to buy Tires for my civic

Hi,

I have a Honda civic 2007 LX Sedan with 55000 miles on it. I bought the car brand new, never changed tires. Did car rotations with oil change whenever I can remember. My front two tires a bald illegal but my rear tires have some thread in it and there is some dry rot on the tires. Currently it has Good year tires on it. I need tires that make driving comfortable, have long thread life and good handling. I have no experience buying tires and fear that tire places like Costco and Mr tire take advantage of that confuse me with tires that is overkill or not good tires.

Costco is suggesting these tires: Michelin Primier A/S all season tire: $133.99 /tire + $15/tire installation fees

Can someone guide me on how to buy tires?

the longer tread life a tire has the stiffer the rubber which reduces ride quality and handling especially in rain or snow. i personally buy my tires from Tire Rack then pick them up at the distribution center that way there's no shipping charge then i bring them to Town Fair Tire which charge me $90 dollars for mounting, balancing, valve stems, front wheel alignment and one free tire rotation. my last set of kumo's cost me $300 all together.

I put Hankook Optimo H727's on my '07 LX sedan good year 'round performance in snow & wet here in NE Ohio.
