How much to replace oil pan gasket? Civic LX

I am leaking a small bit of oil and want it stopped. Does anyone know the average labor for getting the oil pan gasket replaced?

I'm with Pete, it is so easy its not even funny. You take off a whole bunch of bolts then take the pan off. Scrape the old gasket off. Install the new gasket on the pan. Put the pan on the engine. Start all the bolts a couple turns by hand. Get your torque wrench. Tighten them to 1/2 spec, tighten them in opposites (get one then get the one directly across from it on the other side of the pan). After you have tightened them all to 1/2 spec, go ahead and tighten them to spec. Drain the oil before doing any of the above or you will have a big mess on your hands.

. like i said before.. do it urself... its like 15 bolts and removing the header or just lowering it.. depending on how ur cars set up then u just drop the pan clean it put blue glue up put the new gasket and put it back on.. easy as pie... while ur at it replace ur oil filter since u have the oil drained already...

now even with basic knowledge i still wasnt able tog et mine off.. that coulda changed by the time ig et my car home tomorrow.. i probably smashed my header off..

im sure the mods will agree with me.. please only post once.. we will get to ur problem..and the more u post about the same thing the more they pressume u are a spammer.. plus it takes up the sites bandwith

Yea, I have changed them before on other cars, no problem. It's just the bolts are covered by something on the passenger side of the oil pan. I can't get right at them. Anyone want to post the exact procedure?

Off-topic but everyone does this, the mods post these DYI's but they just post them, other members do them. The DYI was made by spoon95.

Replacing oil pan gasket on this model will cost me $400 to $600 before taxes!!!. Definitely it is my last Honda.

If it's going to cost $400 to $600, then you need to try a few smaller shops in your area. The smaller ones have a lower overhead as opposed to the big dealers. I just had my timing belt and water pump replaced at my corner shop. It cost $450 parts and labor. Paid cash and they didn't hit me up for tax. My Honda dealer gave me a price of $1029 plus tax for the same job.
