I was sitting with my wife at a stoplight tonight, and a black SRT-4 pulled up next to me. sounded stock, looked stock. i looked around, and there were only a few cars WAAAAYYY behind us. so im wondering what he will do, and im watching the light. it turns green.......and i pull calmly away from the light. huh? not what you expected? me neither. im finally getting to the point that i can stop myself from taking even the fun races. i mean damn, that would have been great! but it would have also been probably in the range of 80-110 before it was decided. sorry, not gonna do that crap anymore on surface streets. its taken a long time to get to the point that i can walk away from an opportunity like that, but im working on it.

LOL I was forced into that too after being pulled over. I didn't race a 96 ex that goes to my school the other day and he was like wtf but I was like not anymore. I miss it real bad tho but I don't get that worried feeling I used to get.

one of my friend got clocked at just over 130 on the freeway, and was handcuffed, sitting in the back of the cop car, when a code 3 came over the radio and the guy let him go with a fat ticket.

i've gotten to that point as well. there was this kid on the freeway in some beat ass 80 something chevy camaro revving his engine at me. it was an auto so i know i could have taken him, but it would have been a rolling start from 70mph. so i decided to be the bigger man and not give in.
speaking of handcuffed, my friend just got arrested the other day for "attempting to run over a security officer" while we were skating. poor guy got a $400 fine

there is NO WAY u can talk ur way out of 130 in a 40 zone....im a criminal justice major in college, i am friends with many cops, and i kno that it would NOT happen. You would get multiple tickets including the following "Reckless Driving, Excessive Speeding, Reckless Endangerment, and so on. That story is 110%[sm=bs.gif]

you are correct pcupo12. there is no way that would happen. i am a part time officer in my town, been one for 4 years. 130 in a 40 will not only get you tickets, but it will get you a one way to jail as well. and you won't see your license for a few years minumum. it's a good story, but that's all it is, a story. some advice for you all. i like to run just as much as anyone else, but common sense tells me to keep it on the track where it belongs. there are a reason for speed limits whether you agree or like them or not. and no, i don't always drive the speed limit. but i know that 130 in a 40 is nothing but ignorant. BE SAFE!!!

i say if your ass is doing 120 down the free way and the cop nails you from a stopped position chances are there wont be another cop anywhere near ya depending on your location atleast here in idaho the cops on the highway are spread pretty thin but hell i'd gun it and keep going hit the next exit it would take awhile for the cop to catch you we did that once saw the cops lights go on and just took off and and hit the first exit off the freeway never saw the cop

Radars can't see around corners, and running from cops is a hell of a bad idea. I've done a few overnighters, and it ain't fun at all. And you'll get much more than that for running from a cop.

In my old neighborhood, my friend couldn't even get away with 73 in a 35 at midnight on a deserted road.

But my new area is a whole different story. Here's our new passtime: Ok, so there's this loooong ass straight road (6+ miles of STRAIGHT) next to an open field with a 50 limit ( though only 1 in 75 people actually stay within 5 of the limit). So anyway, it goes and goes, and then there's another road that comes in from the right (T-intersection), and then about 1/2 mile down the road, it gets all curvy and whatnot. Due to the massive amounts of illegitimate races that go on on this road, there's always fuzz staking out the T-intersection.
So, what my friends and I do now is hop in my friend's car ('97 M3, 300 ZX TT; my latest isn't quite ready yet) or my brother's 1G DSM (sidenote: he just finished a full build with a custom .63 T3/T04B at 78T/54C. He hasn't taken it to the dyno yet, but there's no way to keep the wheels planted...). Anyway, we get going at a healthy rate (to say the least), and once we're about 1/2 mile from the cop, we kill the headlights (parking lights only) and just blow by him. After that, we're practically in the twisties, so we haul it down and ditch into a driveway on the left that goes off into the woods and wait for him to fly by, lights and siren blaring.

yeah i did something like that, i was going one way at like 70/75 in a 35 and the cop was coming the other (on a narrow ass road) and i saw the lights come on (it was at night and there were no other cars on the road) so i just floored it up and over a hill, slammed on the brakes and pulled into a driveway and cut the lights, the cop had to do a 3 point turn becuase the road was so narrow. I loved watching him blare past the driveway, then i just pulled out and took an alternate route.
