I found a civic 90' - need advices

I found a Civic DX manual for a $1000. The guy said it's in a good mechanical condition. Does anyone knows what are the main problems with this car? What are the sensative parts? What should have been replaced by now in the car? Is the price reasonable? What shold I notice when inspecting th car?

Thanks a Lot!!

price sounds reasonable if it is in good condition, and one thing to look out for is the body, depending on your area it could be pretty rusty. but other than that first thing i would do is get it checked out by a mechanic, if the guy wont let you do that then don't buy it

Unless it's leaking like a sieve, I would totally get it.

What year is it? Milage? What's the body look like?

Edit: Oh I automatically thought it was a hatch. Is it?

Get the car checked out and if the body is good, buy it. I wouldn't buy it if the body isn't good especially since i don't find body work particular fun and it definatly ain't cheap. Even if the motor is bad or needs work, you could fix it up at it will still be worht it for $1000. Or you could get high performance mods, then its a pretty good price for a nice platform especially if it doesn't requrie body or interior work.

i owned a 89, look for rust cause mine did hace a small problem with that. it had 200,000 + miles and it ran like a bad@ss out of hell! good car. Since there pretty light if you engine swap it will pretty quick. the one thing to look for if you cant afford a mechanic look at how the interior and exterior looks, that will give you a ruff idea on how it might have been taken care of.
